I
have more stuff
than you can shake a stick at.....GET IT??
I was raised on country music and grew up strumming guitar with my Father and
brother Rick until I heard KISS and AEROSMITH and ANGEL around 1975 or '76.
At that same time, a buddy of mine down the street had a drum set and I took to
them like stink on shit. Mom bought me my first drum set and I have been
going at it ever since.
Self
taught by listening to Peter Criss of KISS, Joey Kramer of AEROSMITH Brian
Downey of THIN LIZZY, Darrell Sweet of NAZARETH, Barry Brandt of ANGEL, Joe X.
Dube of STARZ, , and drummers of bands and artist like HEART, THE BABYS,
BROWNSVILLE STATION, ALICE COOPER, TED NUGENT, ZEPPELIN, UFO, CHEAP TRICK,
QUEEN, GOLDEN EARRING, ON & On & On & On & On...... It might
have been easier to say everything in my 5000+ record collection. That's just LP'S, not to mention tapes, and 45's. Oh yea, we
can't forget ANIMAL.............You get the idea? "I love Rock, Classic and
Hard Rock as much as I love Southern Rock, Glam, or Pop or Metal, Funk,
Soul or Blues. A good Song is just that. A Good Song!, No matter what
style." And oh, RAP SUCKS!!!
Previous
band's include SPEED LIMIT & BLUE ODYSSEY both in the late 70’s. In the
early 80’s, I played in NOBODY'S BUSINESS, a original band
where the styles of Crosby Stills and Nash & Jackson Brown was introduced to
me. Then came STEPCHILDE who mixed hard rocking originals with covers. We even
got air play with our song “Aim Too Please”.
Next…HIGH
ROLLER!! After being in the band for sometime, while splitting a show with
Faucet, that’s when I met Tommy Pearson. Everytime after that if I’d go see
Ted Nugent, I would see Tommy and think to myself, “there’s that guy”.
If I go see Aerosmith and I’d see Tommy and think “there’s that
guy”. Cheap Trick….”there’s that guy…… Blue Oyster
Cult…“there’s that guy”..... Kiss…..“there’s that guy”. One
night while in Shockoe
Bottom I ran into that guy.
HIGH ROLLER needed a guitar player and Tommy was looking for a gig. I spent 10 year’s with HIGH ROLLER. The later part with Tommy. The funny thing is, after a period of time we both discovered when we would see each other we were both thinkin’ “HEY, THERE’S THAT GUY.”
Then a couple years with the Metal Band PAYBACK and yes, with Tommy. After a year and a half off due to a injury I played for DR. WOO for a short time. Then came a blues-boogie band called FULL CIRCLE with my brother Rick. During this time I also filled in for local rockers Hedly Lamar for about 6 months and had a 50’s cover band on the side. After Full Circle called it a day, a Thin Lizzy Jam came up in the summer 0f 2007 with Tommy and and bass player Alan McCleaf and from that Rockslide was born. The band bio picks up from here.
HERE ARE A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT CATCH ME WITH AT A GIG.
